You have a reason for being here beyond all the who, what, where, when, and how’s, as important as they might be. You have a Soul Purpose, perhaps not yet fully realized, calling to you from deep within. It’s telling you it’s time to wake up, to stand up, and to rise up and respond. The Ukrainian dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, made famous in "Dancing with the Stars," reminds us of another, radically different way to discover this defiant power of spirit. Maksim was in Ukraine when the war broke out, and shortly thereafter he left Ukraine, much to his regret and shame. "I feel guilty. I feel bad," Chmerkovskiy said in an interview with "Good Morning America." "I feel ashamed. I feel upset."

We are bearing witness to the best of what humanity has to offer, the defiant power of the human spirit, exemplified by the people of Ukraine, and the defiant-spirited, Volodymyr Zelensky.

What if you lived your true power and stood at the center of your life and just completely owned your full vision of yourself? The truth is, you may feel scared. I know I did, and still do sometimes. See, we say we want to know our soul purpose, and we desire to live it and feel completely fulfilled. The challenge is that along with knowing, there is action required. And that action is reclamation, remembering, returning, and reunion.

Anxiety lives in the earthly body, until we sit long enough and slow down to feel it and release it. This awareness releases the limiting beliefs and blocks we have, which allows us to live in our soul purpose and truth. Anxiety can’t live in higher consciousness.

What would it feel like to rise from the ashes of anxiety and fear? Freedom from anxiety is a true gift. For me, it’s been an invitation to dive deeper into my pre-covid anxieties, and why they presented themselves in the first place.

If you are above ground, breathing, and conscious it is never too late.

It isn’t about perfection. It isn’t about morality. It’s not about being faithful to your religion, your community, or the people in your life.

It’s about being faithful to yourself, your true self, your soul, and the life you were meant to live.

It's about achieving and feeling success, true success, the kind that only ever comes when you are living your true self, your authentic life, divided no more because you are living with integrity.

This isn't simply about Aviv, but all of our children who live their lives in the shadows because they don't fit in on the playground. It's for all of those kids who have known more darkness than light in their short, difficult lives.

Just as trees are in service to life-giving fruit, shade, energy, and support, all from that little seed- the act of prayer is a service to all beings, nurturing positive energy, compassion, kindness, and relationships. 

Let’s make it an MLK Day week, not only for him, but for us. We need to channel him, his love, compassion and hope today and everyday, now more than ever.

But at a deeper level, as Dr. Frankl teaches, it's about being response-able, able to stop reacting to your circumstances, and start responding to your life, your inner compass, your soul.

We are often given messages in our culture that we must be entertained, distracted, and pleased by things outside of ourselves. We are taught that we must be moving forward, growing, doing, and cultivating in order to feel worthy, loved, and productive. We are a doing society, ingrained in our bodies we feel that the only way to be worthy and successful is if we are always doing more.
