The Enneagram of Yellowstone

It's amazing to me how many people know about various personality assessments like Meyers-Briggs, Strength Finders or DISC, yet don't know about the Enneagram. Whereas these others are relatively new, the Enneagram is undeniably old, like thousands of years old. Its origins probably begin in ancient Greece and sacred geometry and Homer's Odyssey, was influenced by Catholic mysticism, Kabbalah, and the Tree of Life, and much later integrated with modern psychology. Regardless, it is ancient, tried, and true and it is accurate, practical, and powerful.

However, just because it's deep, complex, and spiritual doesn't mean it's not real and fun. That's why I put together this Enneagram of Yellowstone, inspired, of course, by the hit TV show Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner. If you haven't watched it, then you're one of seventeen people who haven't, you must. It's really good but also filled with such a distinct, rich, and diverse cast of characters - a roster perfect to explore through the Enneagram.

In the Enneagram of Yellowstone, I'll talk you through some of the key characters and where I think they would find themselves on the Enneagram, and why I put them there. I'll also share with you some Enneagram based suggestions for them to defy their Enneagram number as that is the central mission of the Enneagram, in my understanding, and the foundational message of my program, "The Defiant Spirit," inspired by the work of my teacher and mentor, Dr. Viktor Frankl who said: "Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our happiness.”

The Enneagram is that space. The Defiant Spirit will give you the direction you need to stop reacting to your circumstances and the tools you need to start responding to your life. And in this video, it'll make it a whole lot of fun.

P.S. Even if you haven't yet seen the TV show, watch this, and take it with you, and the handy-dandy download infographic, and now you have a fun Defiant Spirit homework assignment, for you, for family night, or for date night!
